SoftBank to invest $100m in former partner’s fund
SoftBank’s second Vision Fund plans to invest $ 100 million in a new fund launched by one of its former top partners, Jeff Housenbold, the latest step by the tech investor as it continues its fast-paced transaction pace.
Housenbold’s new fund, Honor Ventures, aims to raise between $ 500 million and $ 600 million for investments in consumer technology businesses, according to a presentation by the Financial Times.
SoftBank’s second Vision Fund has dedicated $ 100 million of the total, two people said. The fund manages $ 30 billion of SoftBank’s money after failing to raise capital from outside investors.
